Bacon Burgers: “Protein Style”

We love a good burger. Wait, I don’t know many people who don’t actually! This recipe is oh-so-simple and oh-so-delicious…

FRY

4 pieces of Nitrate-Free Pork Bacon till almost crispy. Move to a paper towel lined plate and then chop into 1/8″ horizontal strips. Pour bacon fat into a cup and reserve.

MIX

1 lb. Grass Fed Angus or Sirloin Beef

Chopped Bacon (above)

couple dashes of Cayenne or Chipotle Pepper (or more if you like things spicy!)

Pinch of Sea Salt

optional spice additions: 1/2 t cumin, 1 t oregano

FORM

into 4 patties

FRY

in 1 T reserved bacon fat

WRAP

in butter lettuce

TOP

with heirloom tomato, homemade guacamole, stone ground dijon, pickles… and/or whatever else suits your burger fancy!
